When your body is out of balance, symptoms may occur such as headaches, numbness or tingling in the arms, legs, hands, or feet, digestive problems, carpal tunnel symptoms, ankle and foot pain, back problems, decreased range of motion,
or other imbalances. At other times, pain may not be present, but your body will function at less than optimal.
As we make corrections and you begin to implement healthy lifestyle choices, you create a new pattern for your body which allows you to function and express life at a greater potential.
What is a subluxation? A subluxation is a restriction of one or more spinal bones, or vertebrae, which cause interference to your nerve system. Your nerve system coordinates all functions of your body. Interference to this system will decrease your body's potential and its natural ability to heal itself. Correcting the subluxation will help to restore your body's natural inherent potential that you were born with.
What is a chiropractic adjustment? An adjustment is a specific procedure that is performed by the chiropractor to correct the spinal subluxation. The adjustment is based on a specific correction which ultimately allows the body to find its proper position and function optimally.
How long will it take for my body to heal? When we truly look at how the body works, we know the body heals itself every second of every day. It is our intent to remove any interference with this process. Your history, as well as the choices you make outside of the office will greatly affect how your body heals. Symptoms may resolve in one visit or it may take a series of visits as well as altering daily habits and activities. For those who seek ongoing optimal health,
a healthy chiropractic lifestyle and check ups are vital.
It is our intent to help you identify factors that will optimize your body's natural healing potential. Your body is designed to heal itself and we will help you identify factors that are interfering with this natural process and make sure you are giving your body what it needs. Just as you brush your teeth and practice good dental hygiene, the same attention is needed for a healthy spine and nerve system to experience ongoing optimal function.
Do adjustments hurt? Most
people say adjustments feel great. However, sometimes the area may be
tender or irritated as the subluxation created damaged tissues.
Some people experience temporary, mild discomfort after the
adjustment and others feel as if they could run a marathon. Each person is unique and may respond different
depending on their history, their daily activities, and the presence of
inflammation as the body heals.
When is the best time to have my children checked for subluxations? The birth process is often the first occurrence of a subluxation; therefore shortly after birth is the best time to have your child checked. Keeping your child's body free of subluxations will allow the greatest potential for the important communication pathways that are established during these windows of opportunity in the first few years of life.
